Governor Sam Brownback (R-KS) has made it quite clear how he feels about Planned Parenthood. Taking a press conference at the end of July to announce a new investigation into Planned Parenthood, the governor argued that inspectors should be sent in to all Planned Parenthood facilities to start an investigation prompted by heavily edited video.

Gov. Sam Brownback repeatedly criticized Planned Parenthood during a news conference Friday after calling for the Board of Healing Arts to investigate abortion facilities earlier this week.

The governor’s action comes in response to a series of hidden-camera videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion group, that appear to show officials from Planned Parenthood discussing the sale of tissue from aborted fetuses.

“I don’t think they ought to be selling human hearts. I see that as wrong. I think most Kansans see selling human organs as wrong,” Brownback said. “We’re talking about humans here. Not just pieces of tissue.”

Laura McQuade, CEO of Planned Parenthood Kansas & Mid-Missouri, spoke out, noting to the governor that Planned Parenthood has no tissue donation system, as the governor well knows. Piping up to speak on the issue was Kansas for Life, the state right to life organization, which agreed noting that the ban has been in place since 2000 at their insistence.

Governor Brownback, though, couldn't resist taking shots in Twitter today, and his efforts to troll Planned Parenthood did not go as planned.
